A Day at the Zoo

We went to the zoo today with Kailey's Kindergarten class. She had lots of fun and loved to be with her classmates discovering the animals as they come out of hiding.

The "dancing porcupine" was a big hit. It was standing up on it's back legs literally rocking back and forth, dancing. The kids just loved it! Tana even started dancing with it.

Kailey Turns Five!!

This year we asked Kailey where she would like to celebrate her birthday. She responded way to quickly with "Chuck E. Cheese!" So that is exactly what we did. We invited a few of her close friends and had a blast.

One morning when Kailey was about three years old she was watching Seseme Street and it was an episode with Elmo playing different instruments. Since then she has been asking for a guitar and a violin. We finally thought that she was old enough to take care of one, so we got her a guitar for her birthday this year and she LOVES IT! We as parents do not have a clue how to play, but that does not seem to stop her!
Kailey was also able to celebrate her birthday with her Kindergarten Classmates. She decided to wear her "Birthday Girl" crown, which made her feel like a true princess!

Got Wood?

So along with having a fireplace, we need to have wood. You think?! Well, we went on a few camping trips this summer and as we were there, we would cut firewood and bring it back home to prepare for our winters. We have collected ten (10) cords worth of wood in four (4) trips in Redlodge, Montana. It was a lot of hard work and we now understand how they stayed thinner in the frontier days. We are sharing the log splitting event we did last weekend which is just a fraction of the ten cords we got.

Chase's First Birthday

We celebrated Chase's First Birthday on September 3rd and had a blast. He got lots of fun gifts and really enjoys his boy gifts!! As you can see he had a great time eating his dump truck full of chocolate icing from his birthday cake. This is his first encounter with sugar!!!

The beginning of our fireplace

(Before)
We have a home that has gas force heating, which is great; however, as many of you already know, gas prices are getting expensive. So we have decided to put in a fireplace for our source of heating and use the gas forced heating as a back-up. It would be nice snuggle up on the couch in front of the fireplace and just relax (at least when all the kids are in bed. LOL!). Here are some pictures of the rough frame-in. Notice the empty spot for the flat screen television that we have envisioned . . . stay tuned if we ever get one to fill that void.

Computers!!!!!

So we started this blog almost three weeks ago but our computer got sick and it took forever to get our heartbeat back. Most all of our files were lost. We had a Friend help us out and we have to go through some files that he was able to retrieve. We were able to get our book keeping records back too!! What a disaster that would have been! Its raining here and cold. Kailey is learning the months of the year in school. We are gearing up to put our new fire place in! pics to come!! Paul will leave pics of his current job at hand as soon as we figure out how!!
